2. The Vigil - I literally knew nothing about this one going in beyond what the Hulu synopsis said, and I was pretty impressed by it. Horror movies with any religious basis always tend to go for Catholicism because… ::gestures broadly at the entirety of the Catholic church::
So whenever I stumble across a movie featuring a different faith I’m intrigued. Off the top of my head the only other recent horror movie I can think of that feature Judaism is The Possession. I haven’t seen the lead actor in anything else, but his performance really carried the movie. The ending felt a bit too easy, but not enough to really lessen the rest of the movie. Definitely worth a watch.
