28. The Babysitter

Okay, this movie was a freaking blast. Ridiculous, tons of blood, attractive people to leer at, hot blonde girl worshipping Satan. Thank you, Netflix, would watch again.

29. The Crucifixion

Fairly generic possession movie. Not terrible but not terribly impressive either. Pretty visuals but all in all rather “meh” for me.

30. The Love Witch

I’ve really been all about horror comedies this month. Not going to lie, the biggest reason I watched this was it was just so damn pretty. Loved the whole retro 60s look of the whole thing and Elaine’s eye makeup was #goals. It was a bit long, but I was entertained. Mainly by all the technicolor prettiness.

I figured bookending the month with two new Stephen King movies was a good plan. I really liked this. If Stephen King’s name wasn’t on it, I really wouldn’t have called it “horror” just based on the trailer, but it definitely was. Cold and stark, even though it’s one of King’s stories that doesn’t take place in Maine, it still very much fits with that aesthetic. I liked it a lot, and Thomas Jane was fantastic.

That ends another 31 horror movies! My favorites were a three-way tie between Gerald’s Game, A Dark Song, and Train to Busan with Hush and The Babysitter getting honorable mentions. All in all, I think I did well this month. I only watched three movies that were absolute garbage and a handful that were “meh,” and I definitely found some new favorites.

Happy Halloween!
