Ummm...I just got back from England and France. As in, yesterday. and believe me, I definitely love a huge amount of the things over there, such as their history, architecture, etc (ie, why I chose to honeymoon there), but in some things, we kick their ass. they pay about 4-5x more than we do for gas, 4x what we do for bottled water, ...ok, I'm not going to put specifics anymore, they just pay obscene amounts of money for everything over there. and our toilets, for the vast majority of the time, flush. I think I had trouble flushing 80% of the toilets that I used in London. I ended up walking out of more than one without anything going down. blech. but it was still so worth it! <3

oh yeah, taxes are pre-built into the prices of everything, SEVENTEEN FUCKING PERCENT!!! and the job situation has to suck balls, there were bilingual, witty, intelligent people working shitty fast food-type jobs. meh, maybe their fast food pays more than ours ;)
