2. Pontypool

Loved it. LOVED IT. This one was recommended by Chapman Mingledorff, and thanks for that dude! I went into this one literally knowing nothing about it beyond the name and people saying it was good. The cast was strong, the reactions were realistic, and the evil was unique. The whole movie was such a slow burn. The whole thing just worked. Go Canada!

I wanted to see Pontypool for SO LONG when I heard about it but it didn't get a wide theatrical release. When it finally came out on DVD I watched it with a couple friends and we actually had to pause it in the middle because it was so intense. After it was over the phone rang and the name of who was calling would come up on the TV. Because it came from a cell phone all it listed was "Ontario".

We nearly shit ourselves.

Oh man, I would have FREAKED! It reminds me of after a few friends and I saw The Ring together. The next day one of the guys got a nosebleed like in the movie and we all lost our shit. On the seventh day after we saw it, we were all calling each other to make sure no one died. Ah memories.
