sacrilicious1313. Goodnight Mommy - I haven’t seen many German horror movies. The only other one that comes to mind is “Funny Games” which I think is VASTLY overrated and probably my least favorite entry into the home invasion subgenre. This gives me the same feeling as that movie, though I didn’t dislike it QUITE as much. I’m not a person who is usually great at predicting plot twists, but 15 minutes into this movie I figured it out. Probably my least favorite so far this month.
14. Nocturne - I love a lot of Blumhouse movies, and I was excited about the four new “Welcome to Blumhouse” features on Amazon. I picked this one entirely at random, and it was pretty good. Nice take on what artistic ambition and stress can do to someone (with the help of a demonic music theory book.) I’ve seen a few comparisons to “The Perfection” but honestly, I think that’s just because it relates to classical music. Definitely worth watching though, and I’ll be checking out the other three in the series for sure.
