This is the time of year that I start feeling very introspective. Months into the Texas summer and months left to go and all I can think of is running away with Joe to someplace with leaves and clouds and rain. I miss weather.

In the ages and ages since I last posted, we got a puppy. Her name is River, she's a German Shepherd, she's adorable, but OMG I CANNOT WAIT FOR HER TO NOT BE A PUPPY ANYMORE. I am most definitely, without a doubt a cat person. I like her but she's so needy and she won't stop biting me! The cat is getting smothered with love because I know she likes me.

I know right? Pretty freaking cute. Good thing. If there was ever any doubt that I was never having kids living with a puppy has cinched it. If this puppy had been something as not cute as a child, I would be in jail right now.

Dog owners on my flist, how long does this last? Joe is training her and he knows what he's doing but I am the absentee parent because I don't work at home.

A couple of months. When she loses her razor puppy teeth, it will get better. There's a great book called The Art of Raising a Puppy by the New Skete Monks that might help. So that even though you're not there all the time, you might learn some tricks on how to make your time with her into training sessions that will help her become a better dog.

Hee, I'm kinda in the same place as you with my kittens. I love them dearly, and I'd never regret having them - but ohmygod, I can't wait until they're older and neutered and a little calmer. They just exhaust me at the moment.
