So every weekend I make a pie and then I bring pieces in for my favorite coworkers. I just liking making the pies, and if I ate the whole thing I'd weigh 200 pounds, so I share. Everyone loves them and for a brief moment the world is happy and filled with pie.

Yesterday, I went out into the hallway to talk to Laura on the phone. (I mean, slacking on company time is wrong! I swear!) When I get back there's this giant flowered gift bag sitting on my chair. I'm beyond shocked, and I see there's a card addressed to "The Pie Lady" from "Her Pie Pals." Scott, Janet, Melissa, Erika, Lee and Indre all chipped in to get me a gift certificate from this awesome Etsy seller, perdoozy who makes these ADORABLE retro aprons. (What I like to be cute when I bake!) I already have this one, and as soon as I got home last night I ordered this one because DUDE IT HAS LITTLE PURPLE CARS AND PINK AIRPLANES ON IT.

In conclusion, I love my friends. This was completely unexpected, especially since my birthday isn't for 12 more days and I am highly unperceptive. It was just beyond sweet, and I was totally grinning like a fool for the rest of the day. I also promised to model it for them once it arrives. There will be twirling.

By the way, this weekend's pie is pineapple coconut with Grand Marnier. Oh yes it will rule!

Tomorrow it's off to see The Dark Knight for the second time with my darling Aaron. Cannot wait!

That...is ridiculously nice of you. I think I did something like that only once for my co-workers for the entire time I worked with them.

Ohhh a card from Lebanon would be nifty! Do you still have my address from all the fundraiser stuff or do I need to send it to you again? I can't believe you're finally going in, what four days? All packed and ready to go?

Eh, that was on the papers I gave to the bank, I could probably go to the bank and look it up but you may have to email it to me again. :P

And I'll continue the pimpage from over there. I'll still be able to handle the account and stuff completely with zee Internet. Sadly, a few of the SPN communities have deleted my entries because I was soliciting, but I still got a bit of money. :) We need to start thinking of different avenues. Any good, immediate ideas?

Also, for more possible funding for your mom's stuff, go see what this anonymous person says in this entry. Do you know what they're referring to and if it may work for you?

Her funding for the actual treatment FINALLY came through a few weeks ago, but it helpfully doesn't cover medication, none of which seems to be cheap. (I mean seriously, $15 a pill for antibiotics.)

As for ways to promote the fundraiser, I have no clue. There's always the community_promo idea.

As for the raising, I did get some money, so let me continue doing it from Lebanon (oh, lovely, beautiful intarwebs). I have tons of rich friends there, too, to whom I could totally whore myself out for money.

LOL not that early! It kind of snuck up on me with everything else going on. And my coworkers are HUGE fans of the free pie. <3 you too. Once life is uncrazy and I get settled into the new digs (though who the hell knows when I'm going to get to move now!) we will have to hang out and have crazy hijinks.
