In which I meet my father

Drove fourish hours on Friday and arrived in Frederick, Maryland. Let me start off by saying whoever invented GPS is a wonderful human being because I didn't get lost at all! Go me! I made it into Frederick at about four o'clock and met Britt. Wow people, I have a father! He was really nice and BEYOND excited to see me. There were hugs and nervousness, and then I went inside.
Love his house. The walls are this really pretty peach color. The couches are comfy, and there is a very large tv. Met his two birds, a Quaker parrot named Bud and a Cockatiel named Louie. Bud likes to talk which is very adorable.
Then we went to Britt's pool hall and met his pool team, which is all girls except for him and the girls are all crazy and hilarious.
Saturday was the day where I met the rest of the relatives. Britt's brother Paul (known as PL) has three kids, so my cousins are Greg, Lizzie, and Dan. Greg reminds me of Cillian Murphy, plus he's an English major so yay! Lizzie talks a mile a minute and is just adorable. Her husband Aaron is kind of quiet, but very cute and the Mr. Fix-it of the family. Lizzie did quite well for herself! Dan is a born salesman who could sell ice to a person with hypothermia. He reminds me of someone, but I can't figure out who.
The whole crew went out to a crab restaurant. Now I love crab. LOVE IT. But I haven't had it in ages because stupid Maine only has stupid gross lobster. Anyway, I totally impressed Britt with my mad crab skillz. I've only ever eaten at restaurants where you just get the claws, but here you get the whole crab and they give you mallets and it's messy and crazy. I swear, I think I ate like twelve crabs. SO YUMMY.
Sunday was Easter, so there was a big party at PL's house with tons and tons of people and awesome food and Champagne cocktails. Their house is in-freaking-credible. Seriously. It's like my dream house. After we ate, a bunch of us played croquet outside. I was terrrrrrible, but I blame it on the slanty hill. It was like being in a J Crew catalogue with a bunch of pretty white people playing croquet and drinking Champagne.
Monday was Britt's birthday and we went to Baltimore. I wanted to stop at Charm City Bakery because even though you aren't allowed to go in, I still wanted a picture of the sign. Once again, thank goodness for GPS!
After the stop at Ace of Cakes, we went to the Inner Harbor and the aquarium. Now I LOVE aquariums. Fish are awesome. Sharks are cool. And turtles? Me and turtles are BFF. I seriously took over 200 pictures in there and I was squeeing like a little kid over all the cool fish. Because I am totally a little kid at heart.
After that we went to dinner with Greg and his girlfriend Lauren at this fabulous restaurant called The Rusty Scupper. Everyone had crabcakes. Have I mentioned that crab is AWESOME? There was also this red pepper and almond dip for the bread that was MAGIC. I must figure out how to make it because I could eat that stuff with a spoon.
Lots and lots of walking and delicious food had us conked out so we headed back to the house and Britt and I collapsed onto the comfy comfy couches. It was pretty hilarious. We were both on our laptops, and I introduced him to the wonders of House, Heroes, and Castle. Also he has a channel called Chiller that shows nothing but cheesy horror movies and is THE BEST THING EVER OKAY. We also totally emailed each other while sitting in the same room. The geek, it is hereditary.
Tuesday morning had me driving back to Virginia and not getting lost (YAY GPS) and then collapsing in exhaustedness because CRAZY INSANE WEEKEND AND LOTS OF DRIVING. But it was good. Everyone was really nice and super happy to meet me, and suddenly I have this entire family and it's weird but cool. All the loud groups with tons of people was really strange because holidays were almost always just me and my Mom, quiet and low key.
Other highlights were learning to play Texas Hold Em and watching some guy on internet poker win a pot of $186K, meeting Big Boy who is Britt's BFF and very entertaining, going into Hard Rock Cafe and seeing Keith Richards' guitar, and NOT having the mattress that FLEW off the bed of the pickup truck ahead of us hit the car (seriously tardo, rope is not that expensive!).
On the whole, the only way stuff could have done better would be if it would have been about 85 degrees. EVERYONE is sick of this crappy cold weather. Without further ado, I bring you pictures!

Me and MY FATHER, Britt. (Also, I am NOT short. I'm 5'8". He's 6'5". I totally explained what "Padalecki-sized" meant.)

Cousins Lizzie, Greg, Dan, and me

Me, Greg, and his girlfriend Lauren

Me, Lizzie, and her husband Aaron

OMG Ace of Cakes!

OMG Keith Richards' guitar!

FISHY! I took soooooo many fish pictures!

The family has learned of my love for owls, so the got me those two nifty bark owls. Britt's house had tons of lamps like this shaped like different birds, and there just happened to be an owl lamp in my room! He said he was giving it to me so I'd think of him when I looked at it which is SO SWEET. I named him Fred.
Whew! Hope I didn't forget anything. So that was my weekend!
