27. The Strangers

So this is a movie I've been wanting to watch since it came out, but I haven't watched it because the entire premise of it genuinely freaks me out. Nas fact - what is probably my biggest fear in the entire world is pulling back the curtains at night and having someone be standing there.

There was definitely a lot of me yelling at the screen - "Don't split up you idiot! You have a gun, just keep your back to a wall!" Joe says I'm worse than an armchair football quarterback. On the whole though, I felt it was really effective.

Great cinematography, Liv Tyler's performance was great, and The Strangers were chilling. The decision to never show their faces really worked for the movie.

I really, really wanted to like The Strangers and be scared by it but it was only rated 14A up here in Canada so the theatre was filled with bullshit teens who giggled and made noise and were general pains in the ass through the whole thing. I was so distracted that it ruined my whole experience with it. :(

That sucks. I'm so glad the Alamo Drafthouse here kicks people out if they're assholes. Special hell for all those teenagers!
