15. Suspiria (2018 Version) - I was a bit apprehensive going into this one when I saw the runtime. There just aren’t a lot of horror movies that clock in at two and a half hours, and one complaint I have with a lot of the more arthouse horror is that it drags. (“It Follows,” I’m looking at you.) That being said, this movie didn’t feel like two and a half hours at all, and I really loved it. Just like the original, this movie was beautiful. I love that they still have it taking place in the 70s, and the backdrop of the political unrest in Germany just added another layer. And of course, Tilda Swinton is great in everything.

16. Hereditary - WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS MOVIE? Not going to lie, I went into this pretty much knowing I wasn’t going to like it. I do love Toni Collette and thought she was great in this, but I’m going to steal a quote from Aaron Hefler, my horror soulmate to sum up my feelings - “Doesn’t it feel like they made a drama about a family grieving for a dead child then were like SHIT NOT MARKETABLE!!! and slapped on the horror elements?” Yes. Yes, it does. While the runtime of Suspiria flew by, I was continually checking the clock to see when this would be over. I’ll give it points above “Goodnight Mommy” simply because I didn’t see the twists coming but I still do not understand the giant boner the horror community has for this film.
