sacrilicious1314. The The Devil’s Advocate - This is definitely a horror-adjacent thriller, but it’s my countdown and dammit do I love this movie. I’ve seen it a million times, and I have Al Pacino’s entire monologues memorized. Pretty sure this movie was where my who “You know….Satan is actually kinda hot” thing started.
13. Crimson Peak - This movie is just stunning. I’ve enjoyed everything Guillermo Del Toro has ever made, but this movie is just something else. I love a movie where the location serves as a character, and Allerdale Hall truly is the star.
12. Event Horizon - Sorry, not sorry Royce Conner! I’ve never been as into sci-fi as I am with fantasy and horror, so it’s only in the last ten or so years that I really watched much of anything involving “space stuff.” Event Horizon really is a haunted house movie in space, and considering when it was made the special effects are actually pretty impressive.
11. Train to Busan - I LOVE zombie movies, and for years I thought nothing would top 28 Days Later, but the first time I saw Train to Busan I knew it was going to be a favorite forever. You genuinely care about all the characters in a way that doesn’t tend to happen with a lot of horror movies. Plus I think it’s the first zombie movie I’ve seen where the characters aren’t fighting off zombies with guns or machetes.
