27. The Strangers

So this is a movie I've been wanting to watch since it came out, but I haven't watched it because the entire premise of it genuinely freaks me out. Nas fact - what is probably my biggest fear in the entire world is pulling back the curtains at night and having someone be standing there.

There was definitely a lot of me yelling at the screen - "Don't split up you idiot! You have a gun, just keep your back to a wall!" Joe says I'm worse than an armchair football quarterback. On the whole though, I felt it was really effective.

Great cinematography, Liv Tyler's performance was great, and The Strangers were chilling. The decision to never show their faces really worked for the movie.

What in the actual fuck did I just watch? It was supposed to be terrible right? I feel like I just got punked.

29. The Devil's Backbone

I'm not sure if I'd even really call this a horror movie after seeing it, though there was a ghost. It was just an incredibly beautiful movie. I definitely need to watch this a second time to take everything in, but it's well worth it. The sets as well as the acting were really mesmerizing. Well worth multiple viewings.
