MUGGLEFEST PICS
Jul. 31st, 2007 01:43 pmFinally got around to uploading all my pics from the AMAZING twelve hour Harry Potter festival that I went to with Joe and Aaron on Potter Day.
Mugglefest was in this big warehouse in downtown Portland. The sort of warehouse where you could picture Chuck Norris fighting ninjas. Once you got inside though, you were in Diagon Alley!!!

And that's not even half of it. First of all, the crowd was INSANE.

Seriously. It took about half an hour to cross the building because it was wall to wall people. WALL TO WALL POTTERHEADS!
Then there was the train! They actually had a train that you could ride just like the Hogwarts Express!

TONS of people were in costume.
We had Dementors.

Hagrid.

Joe got a picture with Rita Skeeter, and she was awesome. She manned the Daily Prophet booth and was totally in character the whole time.

Mad-Eye Moody.

And of course. . .SEVERUS SNAPE.

The boys were laughing at me because I totally lost it whenever Snape went by. I just kind of giggled and said, "Hellllllo Professor." And he glared and was surly and DO ME PROFESSOR SNAPE.
They even had this thing setup where you could have Quidditch photos taken. Of course, we were all over that!

For hours and hours where we drank Butterbeer (put cream soda in a bottle with an owl on it and I'll totally pay $3 for it!), got Sorted (SLYTHERIN PRIDE), saw a very attractive couple dressed as the Malfoys (Lucius had the pimp cane and everything. Very badass costume.), and just spazzed out over EVERYTHING.
Finally, the moment of truth came. Everyone lined up and the line was at least half a mile long. There were over two thousand people there. When the first guy got his book, he held up the book and everyone cheered and they he ran down the line high fiving everyone. All we needed was "Eye of the Tiger" playing.

It was hilarious because once everyone had the book, everyone was walking around clutching the book to their chest like it was a precious artifact. And really, it was.
HOMG GREATEST BOOK EVER. FANDOM I LOVE YOU.
It was an awesome, amazing day. I can't believe it's the last book. Thank goodness we have two more movies to freak out over.
